Israel was built by individuals like you and me, and its future depends on ordinary people uniting to strengthen and uplift each other.

The fund was established in 2013 to support lone soldiers, and soldiers in need, to offer them support and alleviate their financial burdens. Over the next few years, we worked with our generous donors to build a “Pina Hama” (hospitality center) for lone soldiers in Alei Zahav, and create a “Home Away From Home” for seven lone soldiers.

We have also worked to extend support to Israel’s elderly, and disabled and at-risk children. Since its inception, the fund has supported hundreds of people in difficult situations, by being there to lend a hand, supplying food, financial assistance, and support to people who otherwise would have gone without.

In 2020 the fund was registered under the official association, “Amiezer”, opening it up to the broader community to come together in support of Israel’s most vulnerable.

It takes each of us to make a difference for all of us.

The name “Amiezer” is derived from the hebrew words “Ami”, which means “my people”, and “Ezer”, meaning “assistance”. It was born out of the belief that each of us has a responsibility to support a fellow Jew in need.

Regular hot meals, accommodation, groceries, visits to the elderly, and Shabbat hospitality – these are oftentimes small things for us to give, that together make a phenomenal impact on the individual, and strengthen the cultural fabric of Israeli society.

Whether you volunteer your time, decide to be an on-going monthly supporter, or make a donation big or small, Amiezer ensures that your contribution goes towards creating real tangible change in people’s lives.
